Stute U17s Draw With Portadown Youths

Institute Under 17s kicked off their National League campaign yesterday evening in their competition opener against Portadown Youths at the Vale Centre.

The fixture concluded in a 2-2 draw, but the Sky Blues may feel they were unlucky not to leave with a win after their positive performance in this match.

Kyle McGonigle opened the scoring for ‘Stute, before a disappointing spell saw the team go 2-1 down, however a penalty taken by Reece Adair late into the game left things all level.

Institute were awarded another spot-kick in quick succession, but unfortunately the Portadown keeper pulled off a good save to deny ‘Stute the win.
