Report by Institute Under 20 manager Sean Friars..
Dundela were very well organised and worked really hard against us today. Despite controlling the game and playing some excellent football, we failed to create any real clear-cut chances in the first half.
Then, against the run of play, Dundela took the lead just before half-time. There were suspicions of offside to this goal but in saying that, their striker finished well!
We started the second half well and the boys battled to get the equaliser. At times Dundela had 10 men behind the ball and threw everything on the line to hold onto their lead. However, with 15 minutes to go, Reece Kincaid curled a fantastic shot into the top corner from 25 yards out. It was a thoroughly deserved goal and if we are honest, the boys should have converted two or three other chances, especially those chances that were somehow blocked by the Dundela defence and the chance that agonisingly hit the post.
Full-time: Institute 1-1 Dundela
Myself and Ryan McCreadie (assistant manager) were very pleased with the commitment and work rate from the boys and the football, at times, was a joy to watch. We are away to Ballyclare next on Tuesday night which will be another though game but one we are certainly looking forward to!
