Stute Progress In Cup After Penalties

Stute overcame a scare tonight from local side Newtowne to progress to the fifth round of the Irish Cup.
Stevie O’Donnell gave Stute the lead after powering home a header but Newtowne equalised and forced the game to penalties.

Fortunately for Stute the Newtowne keeper didn’t continue his heroic display and Stute converted all 5 penalties to set up a clash away to either Dergview or Sport & Leisure.

Garbhan Friel fired home their winning spot-kick.

Our next game will be on Saturday 19th December at home to Kilmore Rec in the Intermediate Cup.
