After a disappointing home defeat, that ended today’s home side’s long unbeaten run, Institute today took on fellow promotion rivals, Ballyclare Comrades at the Limavady Showgrounds.
The first half was a very even affair, with both teams cancelling out each other’s attempt to dominate the game. ‘Stute created a series of opportunities throughout the first half, however lacked the finishing touch. Ballyclare had one clear opportunity which ‘Stute goalkeeper, Marty Gallagher smartly saved with his legs.
The second half the home side were on top of the play for the majority of the half. Early into the second half, ‘Stute won a penalty which captain Michael McCrudden buried from 12 yards. The home side pressed well, and the ‘Stute defence done magnificent and limited Ballyclare to very few opportunities. A thoroughly professional performance, as ‘Stute get back to winning ways.
