Lisburn Distillery 2-2 Institute

An injury time leveller from David Wright earned Lisburn Distillery a 2-2 draw in an exciting championship opener against Institute.

The visitors took the lead on 42 minutes with a goal from Darren McCauley despite strong protests from the home team who were adamant the strike was offside.

It was a tough decision for the referee made even harder by the failure of one of his assistants to attend the game.

When Hume made it 2-0 to the visitors early in the second half the Whites seemed destined to start their time in the championship with a defeat however all credit to their fighting spirit as they continued to work hard getting their rewards when debutant Southam capitalised on an error to reduce the deficit and then eventually Wright getting that late goal that was heavily disputed by the away side as it certainly  appeared to be offside
