Institute enjoyed most of the possession in the first 30 minutes of the match but not once did they test Heslop, the Breda midfielder drafted into nets for this match. Instead, Stute found themselves two down and very lucky to have 11 men at half time. The 1st penalty came from the last man bringing down Johnston on receiving a yellow card and then in an off the ball incident, Doherty, the Stute keeper hit Chines in the face, gave away a 2nd pen but the ref seemed to forget the old adage ‘lift your hands and your off’ and only booked him. Wright scored both penalties. The 2nd half was dominated by Stute but the Breda back four were protecting their keeper brilliantly until the 70th minute when Parkhouse calmly slotted in a great left wing cross. Breda were defended the one goal lead until the 85min when Heslop blotted his copybook by stupidly pushing a Stute forward after collecting the ball in the corner of the box. The ref awarded this 3rd pen which was converted to make it 2-2, and everyone agreed was probably the right result.
