KEVIN DEERY former Derry City skipper is confident he’s the right man to lead the club back into the Irish Premiership following their relegation from the top flight last season.
The 30 year-old Creggan man, who cut his teeth in management with his boyhood club, Trojans FC last season.
Signed one year contract late last night, Deery insisted he’s ‘excited’ at what represents his biggest challenge in football to date.
Deery, made 302 competitive appearances as a midfielder during almost 12 years at Derry City.
Deery will forever be associated with Derry City and will long be remembered for scoring two magnificent strikes in a UEFA Cup first leg tie when Derry defeated Gretna, 5-1 back in 2006 at Fir Park in Motherwell.
