Callum Moorehead was the star man at the Foyle Arena this morning, helping himself to four goals as ‘the Colts’ recorded an emphatic victory.
‘Stute dominated in the early stages before Moorehead opened the scoring from the penalty spot on 28 minutes after he himself had been fouled. His second came with the slightest of touches following Shane Brennan’s excellent free-kick before striker Alex Pomeroy increased the lead eight minutes before the interval. Ballyclare pulled a goal back almost immediately when a speculative ball into the box deceived ‘keeper Matthewson in the ‘Stute goal. (H/T 3-1)
Early in the second period Moorehead completed his hat-rick, again from the penalty spot, after substitute Flemming had been tripped. The visitors pulled another goal back before Moorehead added his fourth from a Flemming cross. The same player created ‘Stute’s sixth and final goal of the game as Cory Hill side-footed another cross beyond the visiting keepers reach. (F/T 6-2)
