Institute went into today’s game at Wilton Park against Loughall, needing only one point to secure the league title and with it promotion to the Premier League.
The first half started with Niall Grace having a goal ruled out for not crossing the line. The first half, both teams showed fight and determination as each and every ball was contested for. ‘Stute were limited to half chances, with Loughall having several close long range attempts. Defensively Mark Scoltock and Dean Curry were dominant in all airal duals.
Second half however was a different match, win ‘Stute starting to show the attack class, that has saw the team be so dominant throughout the season. After an incredible run down the right-wing by Moorehead, ‘Stute opened the scoring as he set the ball on a tee for McCrudden to open the scoring. With two minutes remaining ‘Stute doubled their lead as Gareth Brown scored a second after fantastic play again from McCrudden. On the 90th McCrudden yet again scored a poachers goal to round off a fantastic performance.
Congratulations to all the coaching and playing staff for a remarkable season on the pitch after continuous set backs. Also, a mention has to go to all the staff at ‘Stute who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to get the club back on track after a devastating season. Congratulations and well done to all connected.
