Institute moved up to third in the IFA Championship with a home win over Glebe Rangers. Stute were keen to end a run of 3 straight defeats, and didn’t take long to break the deadlook, when Stephen Parkhouse made no mistake with a free header on 5 minutes after a good ball in from the right. Ten minutes later Parkhouse doubled his tally, stooping to head in Dean Jarvis’ cross from the left. With the home side 2-0 up with less than 15 minutes on the clock, it looked like it could be a rout, but Stute allowed the visitors back into the game, and they pulled a goal back just before half-time. Glebe spent most of the second half pushing for an equaliser, and it took a magnificent save from Corey Wilson to keep out what looked like a certain goal. However it was Stute who got a breakaway third goal in the 83rd minute after substitute McFadden combined with Mark Kelly, whose shot was parried into the path of Davitt Walsh. That should have been game over, but almost immediately a long ball into the Stute box wasn’t dealt with, and the home side had to endure a nervous last 10 minutes to secure the points.
