Institute 2-1 Coleraine: Institute progressed to the final of the North West senior cup thanks to a 2-1 victory over Coleraine. ‘Stute started the brighter and found themselves ahead after big centre half Stephen O’Donnell poked home from close range. Minutes later the home side doubled their advantage with a Walsh penalty. With the game appearing to finish 2-0, ‘Stute were awarded another penalty after Coleraine stopper Greg Shannon hauled Graham Crown down with an open net at his mercy, and was duly shown a red card. Up stepped McCrudden, but the sub keeper made a great save- pushing the ball onto the crossbar and out for a corner. Coleraine scored a consolation goal with minutes remaining setting up a nervy finish for the home side- but Stute managed to hold on and secure a place in the final against either Newbuildings or Moyola Park.
