Institute were 6 minutes from progressing to the next round of the Irish Cup at the expense of Premiership opposition but in the end had to settle for a draw at the Riverside Stadium this afternoon. Stute took the lead at the end of a fairly even first half, when Joe McCready (back from loan at Dungannon) passed the ball out to Sean Roddy who whipped in a great cross which Stephen Parkhouse powered home. The visitors started the second half on the attack, but things soon evened out and Stute could have increased their lead, with new loan signing Darren McCauley and Parkhouse both failing to hit the target when well placed. A prolonged spell of Donegal Celtic pressure in the last 15 minutes eventually paid off however, and on 84 minutes a Bradley free kick went through a crowd of players and ended up in the net. Celtic spurned a number of chances to win it in the closing minutes and Stute now face a trip to West Belfast on Tuesday week where the winners will be rewarded with a home tie against high flying Cliftonville.
