Institute 1-0 Kilroot Rec

Institute progressed to the fourth round of the Coca Cola Intermediate Cup after Davitt Walsh scored the only goal of the game in the first half with a diving header, after the Kilroot goalkeeper pulled off a fantastic save from Sean Roddy’s shot. In a game which Stute dominated possession throughout, there were little clear cut chances at either end. Just on the mark of half time Parkhouse thought he had doubled Stute’s lead but the referee thought otherwise and blew his whistle for offside. The Kilroot keeper made further saves to deny Stute, with Carlyle in particular causing their defence problems.

With the game finishing 1-0 to Stute- the most pleasing thing for the Stute faithful was to see Greame Taylor making his comeback after injury and Ryan Semple making his first appearance as a second half substitute.
