Half time- H&W 0-0 Institute.
The Welders came out the stronger the second half and went ahead through from a free header from all of 6 yards. ‘Stute regrouped and created a few chances keeping Welders keeper Dougherty on his toes. Matters were levelled in the 70th minute when Roddy scored directly from a free kick. Although equalising- Stute were questioning the referee how the Welders keeper did not see red after taking down Carlyle when through one on one. From then on in it seemed that ‘Stute would go on and find the winner but their inability to defend corners cost them again when Paul Muir scrambled in a winner for the Welders to leave the final score Harland and Wolff Welders 2-1 Institute.
