After two great wins in the space of a week, ‘Stute looked to continue their winning ways against Newry City AFC.

‘Stute started the first half with great attacking football and sharp, precise passing. Within the opening twenty minutes ‘Stute created several great opportunities, with Bonner coming close from three separate corners. Just after the twenty minutes mark Gareth Brown gave ‘Stute a well deserved lead at the end of a clinical counter attack! Newry responded several times creating several half chances of their own, however for the final ten minutes of the half ‘Stute dominated play, with Aaron Harkin setting the tempo with a impressive midfield display.

The second half however was a different game. Newry were fired up and with aggressive pressing and challenging they gave the away side a really difficult game. As tempers increased as the second half continued ‘Stute showed a different side to their game with disciplined positioning and great defending. Despite this ‘Stute created several great opportunities and were unlucky not to get a second. The away side showed great character and professionalism, with every player putting in a great performance, securing a crucial victory for the away side.
