A poor start and lack of cutting edge saw Institute crash out of the Irish Cup at tonight’s replay in West Belfast. By the time the visitors had settled and found their shape, Ryan Henderson had already headed Donegal Celtic in front after a flick on from McVeigh following a long throw. With the playing surface resembling a ploughed field, Stute’s attempt to play football was always going to be hampered. Despite this, they were on top for large periods of the match although always looked more likely to score from set pieces than open play – with Paddy McLaughlin (photo) going closest in the first half. Stute had penalty claims turned down in each half before Parkhouse was shown a straight red card for an alleged elbow in the dying minutes. The visitors finally had the ball in the net with their last attack of the game through Mark Kelly, but it was ruled out for a push.
