A 1-1 draw away at Dergview was enough to send ‘Stute to the top of championship 1. In what was an even enough game, Stute would probably of felt hard done by, by only going into the break level with the score 1-1. Darren McCauley continued his superb form by cooly slotting home side footed from 20 yards. With ‘Stute seemingly controlling the game up to that point, Walsh was caught in possession which resulted in a reckless challenge and a free kick awarded to Dergview. From the resulting free kick, Dergview leveled proceedings when the unmarked centre half headed home from 6 yards. Half time 1-1. ‘Stute started the second half as they started the first by controlling possession but not really creating much. With 10 minutes remaining ‘Stute found themselves down to 10 men when centre half Stephen O’Donnell was shown a straight red- much to the disbelief of the crowd. With ‘Stute down to 10 men, and Dergivew pressing for a winner- the Drumahoe men were glad to hear the final whistle -which duly sent them to the top of the league.
