Chairman’s pre-match message

Supporters Can Help Stute Progress
(Bill Anderson – Chairman)
Having finished the season six points clear of Ballyclare we now find ourselves with a one goal deficit in this two leg playoff. Tuesday night was Ballyclare’s first victory over us in six games and our lads were understandably upset at having performed below their own high standards. However, I believe that they have the ability, belief and determination to turn things around in the second leg at the Riverside this Friday evening.
However, it is our supporters and other local football fans who can really make the difference by turning out at the Riverside in large numbers and providing the vocal encouragement that many of our young players find so motivating in big games. The same support that drove us on in the second leg against Ballinamallard last year, and against Ards in the Intermediate Cup Final at Windsor Park, can be the catalyst for another unforgettable football experience.
We need your support to keep the dream alive. So come on down and be part of it – KO 7.45 pm.

Regardless of the result tonight, congratulations are due to the team and all the backroom staff for their efforts in getting us to the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
In my opinion, the present playoff situation is both stupid and ridiculous. if a team finishes second in the league, they should automatically be in the playoffs, not playing a playoff to qualify for the playoffs. Once again, STUPID.
