Carrick Rangers 1 – 2 Institute

Institute guaranteed at least a play-off and remain a point behind leaders Bangor after a superb comeback victory over Carrick Rangers at Taylor’s Avenue. After the visitors controlled the first half, the side directly below them in the table took the lead just before the hour mark through Ben Roy. Stute dug deep however and on 75 minutes a superb individual goal from Michael McCrudden levelled the scores, and in injury time Stephen O’Flynn popped up to score the winner for the second successive game. The visitors were also indebted to goalkeeper Michael Doherty for two spectacular saves. Match highlights are available here.

Stute now go into Saturday’s home game with Limavady knowing that if they win and Bangor fail to beat Harland and Wolff, they will be Champions.
